We are delighted to welcome to the club Dan Williams who joins us for this summer, travelling over from New South Wales, Australia!
Dan is a 20-year-old right-arm pace bowler and left-hand middle-order batsman. He plays his cricket at Cardiff-Boolaroo District CC, just outside Newcastle, NSW. It was at Cardiff-Boolaroo where he made his First Grade debut at the age of 16 in 2020/21.
Some highlights of his playing career to-date include First Grade Player of the Year in 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23 for Cricket NSW Academy as well as other notable awards including Bowler of the Year in all three seasons too. Last year he also played for Newcastle area senior rep team. Lots of cricket!
As well as playing cricket, Dan has run Lake Macquarie Junior CC’s Cricket Blast programme for 5-9 year olds which enjoyed ‘best in state’ status for programmes of its type. Dan is currently employed by Cricket NSW to run junior cricket programmes in schools and the like in the Newcastle area and Dan will of course play an active role in helping with our coaching at WCTCC over the summer.
We look forward to welcoming Dan onboard soon. Please do reach out and introduce yourself at nets (or at the bar) in the coming weeks.
Welcome Dan!
