The Sussex Cricket League have released the divisions for the coming season. The teams coming down and up into division 2, 5 and 8 where our 1s, 2s and 3s respectively are based are as expected. But we do get to see the make-up of Division 12 West (Northwest) where our Fourth XI have been dropped into.
The 1s pick-up Hastings and Worthing again, have seen them go up to the Prem in 2023, they've come straight back down. We also see Roffey II and Brighton & Hove return to Division 2.
The 2s will once again play West Wittering and have also gained Aldwick back into Division 5. There will be a trip to Arundel also for the first time in a while. Barns Green and Chichester Priory Park II also return to Division 5.
The 3s collect Ram II and Selsey coming down from Division 7. Coming up from Division 9 are Three Bridges III and Petworth Park, who must certainly have improved since we last played them (13 all out in 2021).
The 4s drop down into Division 12 West (Northwest). The divisions are very congested in number this far down the ladder as the league attempts to keep things as regional as possible and there are a host of new teams entering the league every season. New teams of note in our division are Steyning IV and Billingshurst III. It's great to see our neighbours doing so well.
We start provisionally on 10 May, however either the 2s will innevitably be playing on the 3 May as we have to shift a home game early due to the West Chiltington Village Fair taking over the ground in the summer. The 4s may start later due to their division only having 8 teams.
